The stable release of Android P isn't too far away, but device makers are continuing to roll out Android Oreo updates to their smartphones. Eleven months have passed since Android Oreo was made official, but the newest Android version is still installed only on 12.1% of Android devices (combining both Android 8.0 and Android 8.1). Yesterday we saw the US unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 receive the Android Oreo update. Now, the LG V20—another 2016 flagship smartphone—is receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update in South Korea.
Earlier this month, LG posted kernel source code for the LG V20's Android Oreo update, even though the update hadn't even been rolled out yet. The update roll-out is predictably commencing in South Korea first as the F800L, F800K, and F800S models of the LG V20 are now receiving the Android Oreo update. The update brings the phone's software version to 20c and has a download size of over 1.6GB. V20 users in South Korea can now upgrade their phone's software via firmware-over-the-air (FOTA). Owners of the F800L/K/S models residing in another country can upgrade their device through LG Bridge.
LG has also released the stock KDZ firmware for the aforementioned LG V20 models. Users can use LG UP to upgrade their device through the KDZ firmware. The download links are noted below:

Users can use the KDZ firmware to unbrick/restore their devices by flashing it through the LG UP Tool in case their device is bricked during the OTA update. The update itself brings an improved blue light filter in color view, and the ability to hide the home touch buttons while using apps. It also brings support for Sony's LDAC codec for Bluetooth audio, and the June 2018 security patches are included. The full changelog is noted below:

LG typically rolls out the newest Android updates to its home country first, and there can be a significant delay for releasing the update in other markets. We saw this with the LG V30's Android Oreo update. In South Korea, the phone got its update in December, whereas in India, it only received the update this month.
