Google Chrome is constantly undergoing changes, and something interesting is on the way according to the Chromium Gerrit. Websites will be able to send you a notification, just like now, but with added Quick Reply support. That means you can get things such as a Facebook notification from your browser and reply just like you would to a normal message from another application.
The feature is currently in testing and isn't even available on Google Chrome Canary yet. It will allow you to reply to a notification from your status bar, but websites will have to support it first. This can be useful in a number of scenarios, such as talking to a customer support chat or messaging friends through a website. For me personally, I would find it useful for support chats as that would mean I can do other things while I wait for somebody to get back to me. I wouldn't have to sit there staring at the website waiting for a reply. The addition of Quick Reply has the potential to make browsing on your smartphone even more convenient.
When it finally undergoes testing, we can expect to see it in the Canary channel straight after. You will need to find a website which supports it though, which may prove difficult given that the feature isn't officially launched yet. There's currently no documentation on how to enable it yet either, so it will be a while before we see it reach the masses. If you want to try it out, you need to download and install Google Chrome Canary and update when it's ready. You can download it below, which will keep you on the bleeding edge of features. Note that it may be buggy and have unstable behavior, so it's not recommended to use as your primary browser.
