Snapseed is Google's free image editor for Android. It's famous not only for being able to apply basic filters on photos snapped with your camera but for also being able to process RAW .dng files too. Google purchased the company in 2012, making the bulk of its features free to use for Android users. The app doesn't often see updates, but the latest version (via 9to5Google) sees it receive a new dark theme. The only problem is that the theme is gray and not black, so AMOLED users shouldn't get too excited. The selected tool is still currently highlighted in blue.

As there usually aren't any updates for Snapseed, Google also took the opportunity to support Android Oreo's adaptive icons. The icon is now placed within a white square that can work as a square, circle, rounded square, or teardrop.
While the app certainly gets the job done for most users, it's still missing some basic functionality. The inability to set a custom image resize limit is still surprising for such a popular application. Still, Snapseed is a great app to edit your pictures with if you aren't familiar with more advanced image editing techniques. Google Photos is starting to receive some smart image enhancement features thanks to machine learning, but Snapseed will always have a place as a dedicated photo editor for Android.
