Motorola Moto Z3 Play may launch in India next week

Moto Z3 Play

While the Motorola Moto Z3 Play hasn't been officially released anywhere yet, Motorola announced it earlier this month. This came after a number of exclusive leaks here at XDA, including rumored specifications and leaked photographs of the device. For those of you in India looking forward to the device, we have some good news. 91mobiles reports that the Motorola Moto Z3 Play may be launching in India next week. While there is no official pricing information for the Indian launch, we expect it to cost around Rs 40,000 if going by conversions from Brazilian reals.

The Moto Z3 Play is another phone from Motorola which supports the entire suite of Moto Mods released for the series of devices. Motorola has committed to sticking with them, and so far they are. You can get a number of great add-ons for your phone including a battery mod, speaker mod with Amazon Alexa, and a camera mod. If you need a refresher of the device's specifications, you can check that out below.

Sure it's a phone with some great specifications, but is it worth the price? At Rs 40,000, there are more powerful devices at a much lower cost. Even the OnePlus 6 with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor starts at Rs 34,999 (~$513). We do get some cool camera features with the Moto Z3 Play, like Google Lens support in the stock camera app, but the OnePlus 6 has already got that too.

In the US, the Moto Z3 Play will retail at $499 and will come with an included Moto Power Pack Mod which retails at $49.99. It's unknown at this time whether that will be included in this device's Indian launch, but if it maintains its high price then it isn't unlikely. With other competitors like Xiaomi and OnePlus in the region, we'll have to see how the Motorola Moto Z3 fares against them.
