New devices from Huawei, Sony, Motorola, Nokia, and more are now Android Enterprise Recommended

There are over 2 billion active Android devices in the world today. But, as we all know, our favorite mobile operating system is very fragmented. Especially when it comes to security. Google's been trying to fix that problem for a long time. They recently came up with the Android Enterprise Recommended program that certifies smartphones for business use. I don't need to remind you that security must be a top priority for business smartphones.

Today, Google added two OEMs to the certification program: Sharp and Sonim. Also, they added 13 more devices from 7 manufacturers that were already certified for Android Enterprise Recommended. Google also added two tablets to the program, the Huawei M5 8.4 and Huawei M5 10.8. Including everything, the program gained a total of 17 devices. Here is the full list:

The search giant's certification program now includes a total of 39 devices, including OEMs like Sony, Motorola, Huawei, Blackberry, HMD/Nokia, and from now on, Sharp and Sonim, too. In order for a phone to be included in the Android Enterprise Recommended program, it must get up to 3 years of security updates, have Android 7.0+, support for bulk deployment of devices, security updates within 90 days of release from Google, and more.
