Alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications, Photos, and Pricing Leak

Xiaomi is known for their budget mid-range devices along with their other devices which sometimes push the boundaries of what we would consider normal for an Android device. With 7 inch screens in their Mi Max series to near bezel-less designs with their Mi Mix line of devices, Xiaomi has always stood out from their competition. Their Redmi Note series is their mid-range, "standard" devices which aim to give good value for money, and the latest addition to this series has just had more details leaked. Meet the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

As you can see, Xiaomi has kept the same device design on the back (more or less), but with major changes to the front of the device. The device, as predicted, seems to have become a part of the latest trend when it comes to flagship devices, with the screen-to-body ratio being as high as possible. Pictures of the device aren't all that has leaked either, with a full list of specifications and even the price also coming out before the device's official launch thanks to a report from MyDrivers. It's not far from launch, but we're still learning everything about the device at least a month in advance.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications and Price

The device will likely launch in two variants, as is standard for the "Redmi Note" series of Xiaomi devices. Typically we saw a 3GB of RAM variant followed by a 4GB of RAM variant with an increased storage capacity. This time, however, Xiaomi is also allegedly switching up the included SoC, with the 3GB of RAM variant coming with a Snapdragon 630 and the 4GB of RAM variant coming with a Snapdragon 636. The differences are minimal, but the Snapdragon 636 powered Redmi Note 5 should be a little bit more powerful than its counterpart. The screen will be a 6-inch, 18:9 2880×1440 resolution display.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will also feature a dual camera setup, the first in a Redmi Note device. It will have a 16MP camera in tandem with a 5MP camera, and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The device will launch with Android Nougat, and the two variants will be priced at 1,499 Yuan ($237) and 1,799 Yuan ($284) respectively.
