The OnePlus 5T was launched in November as the mid-cycle refresh to the OnePlus 5. The phone is now permanently out of stock in the US, which has resulted in increased attention being paid to its upcoming successor, the OnePlus 6.
At CES, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the company would launch a flagship featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip in Q2 (April to June). Since then, we have seen more leaks about the OnePlus 6. Last month, Android Central stated that the phone would have a display notch, something we were able to verify ourselves by checking the latest OxygenOS beta firmware for the OnePlus 5T.
We were also able to uncover the device codename, which is "enchilada". Moreover, we have exclusively reported that the phone will offer Cat.16 LTE for Gigabit LTE speeds, a feature which was absent on both the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. Other features of the device aren't yet known, but it's safe to expect the phone to launch with Android Oreo and Project Treble support.

Now, Evan Blass has posted a leaked photo of the OnePlus 6. The photo shows the back of the OnePlus 6 with a wooden texture and metal frame with visible antenna bands. The dual cameras are placed vertically on the back, and the rounded square fingerprint sensor is placed below the dual cameras.
The OnePlus logo and the 'Designed by OnePlus' text is also visible in the photo. Finally, the photo confirms that the OnePlus 6 will indeed retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is visible at the bottom alongside the USB Type-C port and speaker. This is welcome news for many users, especially in light of new flagship smartphone launches that choose to omit the headphone jack.
Last year, the company explained its rationale for keeping the headphone jack in the OnePlus 5T, and the OnePlus 6 will have it as well. This means both wired as well as wireless headphones can be used in the device. Users won't need expensive USB Type-C wired earphones or have to use 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapters. The move to keep the headphone jack is a pro-consumer choice, and if this leaked photo turns out to be real, we applaud OnePlus for opting to keep the headphone jack.
We expect to learn more about the device in the coming weeks.
