Improve Your Productivity with Francisco Franco’s 5217 App, Now Available for Free!

According to a 2014 study featured on The Muse, a cycle comprised of 52 minutes of work followed by a 17 minute break is very efficient for productivity. Thus, to maximize productivity, frequent breaks throughout the day are recommended. This is the foundation of a popular app by XDA Recognized Developer franciscofranco (of Franco Kernel fame) called "5217 for Improved Productivity".

The app is now free, so anyone can now try it out to enhance their productivity. What's the app all about?

As the name implies, and as you might have figured out by now, 5217 for Improved Productivity helps you find out when you need to stop your work and have a break, keeping track of those 52 and 17 minute work-and-play slots. It's a simple app without too many distractions. While the functionality can be recreated through stock alarm apps or a plethora of other methods, franciscofranco's eye for aesthetically-pleasing design and simplicity makes the app a treat to use, which is specially useful in stressful work environments or tedious routines.

The app uses gentle and playful alarm tones as well as encouraging messages to gently guide you through your work on both mobile and Android Wear (where you can conveniently keep track of your cycles, as well as manage them). Finally, it integrates with Google Play Games to give you goals, and allows you to share how many cycles you are able to complete in a day for some healthy competition (or social media virtue signaling!)

If you want to check out the app, head over to the 5217 thread by following the link below, or by directly visiting the Play Store listing. In case you're wondering why this previously paid application is now available for free, Franco wrote up a lengthy explanation of what spurred this decision over on his Google+ page.
